Welcome to Links View Holy Island
A unique historic Grade II listed house sleeping up to 8 guests on Holy Island (Lindisfarne) Northumberland
Links View is a spacious and comfortable dog-friendly self catering property located in a quiet corner of Holy Island village (Lindisfarne). Cut off from the mainland twice a day, Holy Island is a magical, peaceful place to unwind. The house provides a tranquil retreat that’s close to all attractions, cafes, pubs and beaches, with beautiful walks from the doorstep.
This elegant Georgian house features William Morris wallpaper and antique furniture, with scenes from the Lindisfarne Gospels on the fireplace proggy mat and the tiles over the hob. Links View has accommodation on three floors, with four bedrooms, a family bathroom, a toilet on each floor, and washbasins in the upper floor bedrooms. The main part of the house was built in 1800, and the cellar dates from the 16th century when the earlier building on the site was used as a military garrison for nearby Lindisfarne Castle.
More recently, Links View was used as the actors’ green room and crew base for the movie 28 Years Later which was filmed on the Island.

Getting there
Holy Island is a tidal island, with a causeway that can be crossed by car twice a day. Times vary each day, and it’s essential to check tide tables before your visit (see Northumberland County Council website). Every year, visitors who ignore this advice get stuck in the rising tide and have to rescued by boat or helicopter.
To get to the island by public transport, the number 477 bus runs from Berwick upon Tweed (approximately 10 miles away). Bus times vary according to tides, and are more frequent in summer. Taxis are also available at Berwick (about 25 minutes journey time). From Berwick, trains run direct to Newcastle, York, Edinburgh and London and stations in between several times a day.
The small village is easy to walk or cycle around.
Client Reviews

“A wonderful stay in a wonderful house on a wondrous island. Rachel was always at hand to message. We enjoyed our stay here, and would recommend it. The house was nice and warm. Although it is best to bring most of what you you need, the post office just around the corner has a decent stock of everyday basics (inc bread) and some regional treats for gifts.”

“I come here every January with a group of friends and it’s always a lovely experience. The house is beautiful, and the host is amazing! We will definitely be returning.”

"We had a fantastic few nights in Links View. Rachel was very responsive to our messages. The house is lovely - you can feel the history as you walk into the spacious kitchen/dining area. The kitchen has everything you need. The large table is perfect for family gatherings. Upstairs, the four bedrooms are tastefully presented. And there’s no shortage of toilets! We would have loved to stay longer and hope we can return in the future."
